Popcorn Orders Due

Posted on Oct 22 2016 - 1:30pm

If you’re done with door to door sales, please plan to drop off your form and money to Lina Garcia Tuesday, October 25, 6:45pm at Bethany Church (she will be upstairs, not in our normal meeting room).   Make sure you know what prizes you would like.  If you cannot make it on Tuesday, text Ms. Garcia, 610-580-9691.

Scouting for Food Help Needed

Posted on Oct 17 2016 - 6:49am

We are in need of boxes to package up the food collected during Scouting for Food. The boxes must be sturdy and carryable -- so nothing huge!

In addition to boxes, if you have access to a box truck that could be used by the Troop to transport the food on Saturday, Nov. 13, it would save us the cost of renting a truck.

Troop Announcement

Posted on Sep 18 2016 - 7:28pm
The aims of Scouting are: character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness. We know we are on the right track when we see youth accepting responsibility, demonstrating self-reliance, and caring for themselves and others; when they learn to weave Scouting ideals into their lives; and when we can see they will be positive contributors to our American society. As we go through our Scouting program, the goal is not on advancement.

It was the summer of ________

Posted on Aug 7 2016 - 11:00am

It was the summer of .... isn't that how all good stories start?

For me, it was the summer of 1989 (or 1991 or 1987). Those were the summers that I was part of a high adventure trip to Algonquin National Park in Ontario with Troop 131. It was a week of canoeing, camping, portaging, watching moose, and being in the middle of nowhere. I still remember those trips and great experiences that I had. Back in those days I didn't realize the amount of work that the adults -- one of those being my dad -- put into planning the trips. Today, I can look back and fully grasp the time and energy that my dad and other adults put into making sure that the Scouts got to learn and experience things that only Scouting could provide.
