Troop Announcement

Posted on Sep 18 2016 - 7:28pm
The aims of Scouting are: character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness. We know we are on the right track when we see youth accepting responsibility, demonstrating self-reliance, and caring for themselves and others; when they learn to weave Scouting ideals into their lives; and when we can see they will be positive contributors to our American society. As we go through our Scouting program, the goal is not on advancement.

It was the summer of ________

Posted on Aug 7 2016 - 11:00am

It was the summer of .... isn't that how all good stories start?

For me, it was the summer of 1989 (or 1991 or 1987). Those were the summers that I was part of a high adventure trip to Algonquin National Park in Ontario with Troop 131. It was a week of canoeing, camping, portaging, watching moose, and being in the middle of nowhere. I still remember those trips and great experiences that I had. Back in those days I didn't realize the amount of work that the adults -- one of those being my dad -- put into planning the trips. Today, I can look back and fully grasp the time and energy that my dad and other adults put into making sure that the Scouts got to learn and experience things that only Scouting could provide.

From the Scoutmaster: It's my/my son's First Camping Trip

Posted on Apr 18 2016 - 2:53pm

Some of you are getting ready to experience your first camping trip with the Boy Scouts, whether as a new Scout or as a parent. It's bound to be an exciting time, but can also be nerve wracking (expecially for the parent not there).
